DIY Caviar Manicure

Hello everyone!! I'm sure you've all seen the "Caviar Nail Trend" It's a nail polish topped with Microbeads to give it that Caviar look. I really like it and when I first saw pictures I was in love! I found out that Ciate was selling it at Sephora so I went on the website... The price for each nail polish was $25! Now I've paid this amount for a nail polish before but only when it's a unique color that really stands out to me, these nail polishes however are a basic black, pink or white. You're just paying the high price for the microbeads. I decided to go to Michael's, I knew I'd find something similar to the beads Ciate used.. and yep there they were! The brand is "Recollections", they had individual colors but they also sold them in sets of 6. I don't remember if they were $9.99 or $12.99 for the set of 6 but it was Buy 1 Get 1 Half off so I bought the 2 sets of 12 Microbead tubes for under $20. Also these tubes have .79 oz each while the Ciate only has .47 oz. The process is so simple.. You do 1 coat of any nail polish you want to use and let it dry. On the second coat you dip your nail into the microbeads and gently tap the beads onto the nail. I do each nail one by one because you don't want the nail polish to dry up, otherwise the beads won't stick to it. I always put the beads I want to use into a little plastic cap where I can dip my finger in, it's a little messy since the beads are so small and tend to get all over the place, but with a little patience you'll be fine! Now keep in mind that this manicure doesn't last long. Usually around the third day you'll see quite a bit of beads have fallen off. With the Ciate brand I heard it's the same situation so the quality is the same and you're paying WAY less plus have a dozen of colors to experiment with as opposed to just 1 for $25. Enjoy and let me know if you liked this post =)
